FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN WE HAVE A TOUR AND TALK TO SOMEONE IN PERSON?

Our Program Manager would love to give you a guided tour of the facilities and answer any questions you may have.

To set up a tour email cody@campluther.ca or call 604-826-7062 or

Can i make cabin requests?

Yes! All cabins are arranged into the same gender, so friends or siblings must be of the same gender to be in the same cabin.

When you register online, there is a space to write in requests for cabin buddies.

We try our best to ensure that all requests are granted prior to the start of the week of camp.

WHAT IS OUR CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY?

Please Click here for more info regarding COVID-19

We are still retaining hope for our summer camps, though we realize that this may not be possible. If and when the decision is made to cancel summer camps, we will give families the option to receive a refund or leave the payment with us for summer camps 2021.

Those who leave their fees with us:

1. Will guarantee their spot for next year in that same camp

2. Will pay 2020 prices instead of 2021 prices

3. Another option would be to give your summer fees as a donation, and receive a tax receipt for the full amount.

We are thankful for your support!

WHO ARE YOUR CABIN LEADERS?

We have a thorough interview process and hire a team of highly qualified Sr. Cabin Leaders who are all 17+ and spend the entire 9 weeks of summer with us.

All staff & volunteers are required to have Criminal Record Checks & Vulnerable Sector Searches done prior to the first day of camp.

On top of the one Sr. Cabin Leader per cabin, there are 2-3 Junior Staff (High School Volunteers) who go through extensive training as well.

In early March you can find out who they are! (And can even request leaders).

CAN I CONTACT MY CHILD, OR CAN MY CHILD CONTACT ME?

We generally don't encourage phone calls to or from home except in special cases. In general, it simply adds to the child's homesickness.

However, if it's your child's first time at camp you can request a 48 hour check in from our staff! They will email or call to provide an update on how your child is doing.

To inquire, please email cody@campluther.ca

DO YOU HAVE A CAMP NURSE?

Our camp hires a full time First Aid Attendant for our summer months. This person holds a minimum of an Advanced First Aid Course and is responsible for dispensing all the necessary medications, should a camper require them.

my child is coming for the first time, what should they bring?

Here is a list of items to bring:

Sleeping bag, pillow, weather appropriate clothes (sweater/jacket), running shoes, toothbrush, toothpaste, toiletries, bathing suit, towel, water bottle, flashlight, Bible (if you have one).

Please do not send any snacks or money as each camper receives $2/day of snacks from our canteen.

*if there are dietary snacks, that is allowed through our First Aid Attendant.
